Standardized Test of Academic English Proficiency (STAcEP) is designed to measure English competence specifically on listening and reading skills for non-native English speakers in Indonesian and Southeast Asia context. International English test contents are, in local contexts, considered inappropriate for practical purposes. Apart from materials being examined, tests are also regarded to play a significant role in campaigning national historical values and literacy. In Indonesian and Southeast Asia context, there is a high demand to promote local cultures-based various disciplines. For this reason, STAcEP test is developed to bridge the need of English receptive skills measurement for Indonesian test takers and to promote Indonesian and South East various field contexts.
