Applied Linguistics
Linguistik terapan adalah salah satu cabang ilmu bahasa yang berkaitan dengan penerapan atau penggunaan bahasa. Linguistik terapan (applied linguistics) menjadi konsentrasi dalam jurusan bahasa dan sastra yakni minat penerjemahan, medis, forensik, leksikografi, sosiolinguistik, grafologi, mekanolinguistik, medikolinguistik, pembinaan bahasa, fonetik terapan, dan pengajaran bahasa.

This
course is a compulsory subject for the first semester students. This course
aims to develop basic speaking skills in both formal and informal situations,
especially in using appropriate expressions when discussing topics related to
personal information, family, environment, objects and places around us, as
well as routine activities. Lecture topics include greeting and leave-taking;
introducing oneself and someone; talking about others; talking about past,
present, and future events; describing objects, places, and people; expressing
likes and dislikes, asking for and giving direction, accepting and refusing,
etc

This
course is designed to develop students’ abilities and skills in academic
communication, argumentation and debate. The topics of this course train the
Students to use sources for academic communication, to produce knowledge, to
raise academic questions and to answer the questions scientifically. It also
trains them to think critically, to respect others’ points of view and also to
direct academic arguments.
